Scott Edwards—Trial Lawyer of the Year

Written by Sara Schirato
Success looks different to everyone. It can be attained and measured in countless ways. For us here at Schauermann Thayer, success is doing right by our clients. Helping them through the hardest moments of their lives and being their voice for justice. We strive to make a difference for our clients and for our community.
We are honored to announce that one of our attorneys, Scott Edwards, was recently selected as Clark County Bar Association’s Trial Lawyer of the Year. This notable award is a reflection of Scott’s dedication and passion. In particular, it flows from his determination and advocacy in obtaining a $2,000,000 verdict in June of 2025 for his client who survived childhood sexual abuse. You can read more about that case here.
Upon accepting his award in a room packed with his legal colleagues, Scott dedicated his achievement to his brave clients and their courage in the face of unimaginable trauma.
“People sometimes ask me if I still get nervous in trial. The answer is—absolutely. Every time. I hope that never goes away. Fear is a universal emotion. Before our verdict was read, I nearly cracked. In that moment of uncertainty, it was my client who looked me in the eyes, lifted me up, and gave me hope and courage.”
Our commitment to changing lives—and strengthening our community—is unwavering. We are proud of Scott and our entire firm for the dedication and progress we make every day in serving our clients.
“Our bar cards are more than a license to practice law—they are keys. Keys that unlock doors for those who are often shut out, ignored, or left behind.”
